On the rear panel of each ATS enclosure you will find:

-    the med/tweeter adjustable level pad. This control offers a flat response (0db) in the central position; a gain of max +10 dB (referred to the woofers) at full clockwise position; in the fully counterclockwise position the Tweeter is excluded;
-
    two SPEAKON connectors. These two connectors are identical and they are wired in parallel, allowing the connection of two cabs with the same impedance, obtaining a system having one half the original impedance and capable to handle at least twice the rated power of the smaller cabinet. For example, connecting two 8 ohm cabinets in parallel, one rated 200w and the other rated 300w, we will have a 4 ohm system, rated not less than 400w.

PARTICULAR CARE IS REQUIRED WHEN CONNECTING THE SPEAKON™ PLUG!

ATS cabinets use 4 contacts SPEAKON™ plugs, where ALL the contacts are used.
Contacts +1 and +2 are connected in parallel and contacts -1 and -2 work are in parallel as well. This kind of unusual connection improves the quality of the contacts and allows the use of 4 poles cable on a mono amplifier too.

Therefore, in case you are driving an ATS box with an amplifier of other brands used in Bridge mode (please verify the connections layout on the user’s manual of your amplifier), it is necessary to use a specific cable, where the two connectors are custom wired and identified to be connected to the Amplifier and the Speaker.

YOU CAN EASILY GET THE CORRECT ATS SPEAKER CABLE DIRECTLY TO ATS SUPPORT, OR THROUGH YOUR RETAILER.

Using a normal cable in such cases, you run the risk:

(1)    a short-circuit in the output of your amplifier (ATTENTION: this is a dangerous condition and it should be avoided under any circumstances!);
(2)
    to let the amplifier without load (no sound).
Another dangerous condition, this time for the integrity of the speaker cabinet, occours in the case you connect your cabinet to an amplifier which is capable to supply a much higher power than the one rated on the speaker cabinet, without a subsonic filter with a curve of at least 24dB/octave below 30 Hz.
Please note that damages to the ATS speakers caused by wrong connections between the speaker and the amplifier, as indicated before, will not be covered by warranty.
